"E-stim" in action
The goal of chiropractic medicine is to restore normal joint and nerve function by using specific adjustment techniques. A chiropractic exam involves palpation to find areas of decreased motion in the spine and extremities, and treatment uses targeted adjustment techniques to restore motion to the affected area. Every animal is a candidate for chiropractic care, but routine chiropractic exams are especially beneficial for growing horses, older horses and sport horses in any type of training or competition program.
Acupuncture is an incredible tool to achieve general wellness, provide better control of chronic disease processes, speed healing time, and manage pain. In practice for over 3,000 years, acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine, and research continues to show its benefits when used in conjunction with traditional western care.
Balanced Care Equine is proud to offer Class III and IV therapeutic laser treatment. Laser therapy is an excellent adjunctive therapy when used with chiropractic medicine or acupuncture, especially for sore muscles and stiff joints. It offers a less invasive option for horses who do not tolerate acupuncture needling well, and is extremely useful in facilitating wound and soft tissue healing.
